Basic RiderCourse
The Basic RiderCourse
Designed for novice riders of all ages, former riders, or anyone wanting to learn the best and latest motorcycle techniques. You'll learn how to operate a motorcycle safely, with a lot of emphasis on the special skills and mental attitude necessary for dealing with hazards. A very important segment of the course will show you how to create your own strategy for riding in traffic and dealing with critical situations. You need to be able to, and have ridden, a bicycle prior to taking this course. We can teach you everything except balance.
The 16 hour course is comprised of a 5 hour online class and 11 hours on the practice range. You don't need a motorcycle, we provide the cycles and helmets for this program. The practice range is free of traffic and provides a controlled learning environment. For the range exercises, proper riding gear is required, eye protection, full fingered gloves (preferably leather), long pants, sturdy footwear that covers the ankles, long sleeved upper garment and a helmet.
You may use your own helmet or use one of ours, but it MUST be DOT approved!
Course fee is $250.00 and a parent or legal guardian must be present at the beginning of the course to sign a liability waiver for students under 18 years of age.
Classes are limited, so sign up early. The Basic Rider Course is recognized by Arkansas & Oklahoma. Upon successful completion of the course you will be exempt from the riding portion of the test in Arkansas and in Oklahoma you will be exempt from the riding and written portion in order to obtain your motorcycle endorsement.
